This Novelty Telephone is shaped like a Desktop Computer and is a complete and utter mystery! When was it produced? Did the makers know that one day our phones would actually be computers?!?!
Judging by the design of the computer, I’m guessing that it was produced either in the 1980s or 1990s.
I can just see it on the shelves of Spencer’s Gifts at a local mall near you, in………1987!!!

Your time estimate is spot-on. I purchased one of these myself when they came out, pretty sure it was ’89. Can’t tell you where they were originally from, but I bought mine from Dick Smith in Canberra, Australia (a retailer, similar in those days to Radio Shack). Fun idea, but in reality it was a horrible, clunky thing that was very uncomfortable to hold and use. Functionally, at least, it worked fine, or at least no worse than any other novelty phone. Fun times, thanks for posting!
